On July 12, 2008, the Green Party of the United States held its Presidential Convention in Chicago, Illinois. Green Parties from all around the country sent delegates to choose a presidential and vice presidential candidate. Public Access producers Robert Langley and Jean Waters gave a talk at a Babylon Green party gathering on how to have your own Public Access TV Show. The audience included several other public access producers who added their experience. In the last 13 months, 6 men who have been imprisoned for murder have been exonerated and released. Their exoneration was based on evidence that showed they did not committ the crime, and in some cases pointed to the actual perpetrator. If the death penalty in NY was not in limbo, these men could have been killed by the state. NY must abolish the death penalty

On 3/18/07 a Peace March and Rally was held in Huntington, LI, NY to comemorate the the 4th Anniversary of the start of the Iraq War. The Vigil included the reading of the names of US soldiers from Long Island who were killed in Iraq.
